The Rubella virus IgG (RV-IgG) Rapid Test Kit (Colloidal Gold) is used to detect the rubella virus IgG antibody in human serum /plasma qualitatively. It is used as an aid in the diagnostic of past infection and epidemiological investigation. Rubella virus belongs to the genus Rubella virus of the family Phippoviridae, which is a family of herpes viruses. Rubella virus is transmitted through the respiratory tract and has an incubation period of approximately 2-3 weeks. The clinical symptoms of rubella are like those of a common cold, with the usual symptoms of a cold and swollen lymph nodes behind the ears and under the occiput, followed by a light red papular rash on the face that spreads rapidly throughout the body. Rubella infection during pregnancy may cause fetal death or congenital rubella syndrome (CRS).
